NEW YORK - The MLB does not intend to change his schedule to increase the chances of sport to make a return to the Olympics.
Baseball was introduced to the Olympics from 1992 to 2008 before being removed from the program at the last London Games. To improve the chances of the two sports to return to the Olympic program in 2020, the international federations of baseball and softball have merged.
President of the International Olympic Committee, Jacques Rogge, said that baseball should make its best athletes available, as are basketball and hockey.
Addressing the editors of the Associated Press Sports Thursday, MLB commissioner Bud Selig, said: "We can not take a break in August."
He added: "Do I wish I could do Yes Does it makes sense no?.?."
The IOC executive board will meet next month to select one or more sports to be considered for an addition at the General Assembly in September.
